This will offer one tool for you to use to hold space for yourself as you move through “extreme” states of up and down, and all the intense and subtle, sometimes even overwhelming energetic, mood, mental and emotional states in between.

    Recover Our Humanity as Men

These are hard times for all of us to trust.  When working with men and TRE, we have an opportunity to confront our deepest shadows and reclaim our humanity as men.  When we step into a space of vulnerability with men, an opportunity arises to step out of the shame cycle and back into connection. We may be tempted to run away from this challenging and courageous road, but as TRE providers, we all know the benefits of doing our personal work.

In this workshop, we would like to invite men and women into an honest conversation about working with men.   We will explore how our TRE practices open us up to a deep truth-telling with ourselves and with each other.

To change the world, we need to look inside and be courageous enough to look into our mirror and shake off the defenses that keep us from living. Doing this challenging work calls upon our deepest longing, and our goal is to co-create a space for us to have clarity around how we can deepen our work with men.

In this session, Jozef, Lynea and Ryan will share what they have learned in their work with men and TRE. Then there will be a group discussion and a TRE session. If it is a large group, we will tremor and have discussions in small breakout groups.

Other topics we will be exploring:

    • Creating a container for safe exploration during TRE

    • Women’s role in supporting men

    • The power of our intimacy when it is aligned with dignity and respect

    • Deeper knowledge that emerges from our pain/wounds

    • Releasing shame and guilt

    • Shaking off our defense mechanisms/shields

If a man does not know the wounds of his own soul, he can deny not just his own pain but also be unmoved by the suffering of other people. More than that, he will tend to put his wound onto others. He may only be able to see the wound that secretly troubles him when he forcefully projects it into someone else, in forms of abuse or violence.”   ― Michael Meade
